A ‘short epitome’ of the beginning of Strabo’s book X is accidentally preserved at the end ofbook IX in some manuscripts belonging to tome I (books I-IX of the Geography). This articleshows that this ‘short epitome’ is actually the beginning of book X in the decurtati family, whichoriginally covered the whole text of the Geography. The analysis also allows a reconsiderationof the history of some paired manuscripts (tomes 1 and 2 combined) of the Geography in theRenaissance.
