Alla luce della caratterizzazione delle Danaidi nella poesia greca classica, Melanipp. PMG 757,1 potrebbe essere restituito come οὐ γὰρ Ἰαινῶν φόρευν μορφᾶεν εἶδος, mentre al v. 2 la proposta di West ὀργάν sembra essere la migliore soluzione. Al v. 5 l’asindeto del testo trasmesso può essere mantenuto.

In the light of the characterization of the Danaids in classical Greek poetry, Melanipp. PMG 757,1
could be restored as οὐ γὰρ Ἰαινῶν φόρευν μορφᾶεν εἶδος, while at l. 2 West’s proposal ὀργάν
seems to be the best solution. At l. 5 the asyndeton of the transmitted text can be maintained.
