L’articolo presenta una selezione di lettere finora inedite dall’archivio di Mario Untersteiner (1899-1981), che fu donato alla biblioteca del suo luogo natale, Rovereto, dopo la sua morte. This article presents a selection of hitherto unpublished letters from the archive of Mario Untersteiner
(1899-1981), which was gifted to the library of his birthplace, Rovereto, after his death.
These letters, covering the period 1930-1969, provide valuable testimony on crucial events of
the 20th century, such as the Second World War, the struggle against fascism, and the student
protests of 1968, showing the deep relationship between historical events, political choices and
academic research.
