In the first part of this paper the author suggests to emend φαίνου into ἰαίνου in the first verse of the Seikilos song. The emended word restores the verse semantically (“cheer up”), metrically (ia˰) and structurally (no successive trisemes), whilst not affecting the melody or its accentual identity. In the second part, the author restores the mostly missing prose text of the bottom lines of the Aydin inscription: Σεικίλος Εὐτέρ|[πῃ] ἀλ̣ύ̣[πως] ζη[σά]|[σῃ ἔτη tot].
